Quick Tips

An essential tip is to take full advantage of the train station, which is “Castelldefels Platja.” Obtain a T-casual (10-journey) travel card from the station. It's far less expensive than buying separate tickets; one can work ten times over Barcelona on Barcelona’s trains to Barcelona and beyond with this “pass” and over the whole Barcelona metro and bus system. This makes the hotel an ideal cheap ‘commuter base’ from which to explore the city.

Enjoy the beautiful pool of the hotel. The main beach at Castelldefels can get very crowded and windy in the afternoon (it’s famous for kitesurfing). The hotel’s pool is a great, quiet, and sheltered way to relax in the sunshine with no sand or crowds.

For dinner, walk for 15-20 minutes to the main beach promenade. The best ambiance and the best-rated restaurants in the area are available here. Tibu-Ron, La Canija, or the numerous chiringuitos are on-the-sand great-food places with a great social scene and very handy for a sunset cocktail or fresh seafood paella.

Finally, if you have a car, the free parking at the hotel provides a safe base to explore the region. It is only a 25-minute drive to beautiful, trendy Sitges and a 45-minute drive to magnificent Montserrat’s mountains and monastery. So much easier than trying to drive your way or park your way there from a base in Barcelona.
